What is a scalp massage comb used for?
A scalp massage comb has rounded wooden or horn teeth that gently press the scalp while you comb. In TCM-inspired self-care it is used as a daily relaxation ritual for the head, neck and shoulders.
What is gua sha?
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese self-care technique in which a smooth-edged tool is glided over the skin. Our brass & wood gua sha tool can be used on the neck, shoulders, back, belly and legs.
What is a wormwood massage hammer?
It is a handheld massage hammer filled with dried wormwood (mugwort, 艾草) leaves, used for meridian tapping — gently tapping the body along the meridian lines described in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Wormwood is a herb widely used in TCM.
What are acupressure slippers?
Acupressure slippers have raised points on the sole that press gently on the bottom of your feet as you walk. Ours use smooth natural river pebbles, arranged in a planned layout that follows the natural contours of the foot. In traditional Chinese self-care, the soles of the feet are an important area for massage, and these slippers turn walking around your home into a simple daily foot care ritual.
What materials are your tools made from?
Our tools are made from natural materials such as sandalwood, rosewood, ebony, other natural hardwoods, horn, brass, river pebbles and dried wormwood. Many of our wooden combs are left unpainted and unlacquered, so each piece has its own grain and color.
